Hi everyone,

So I hunted around the board, looked at CMC pics and what I'm seeing commonly for covers (hats) when wearing cammies are black ballcaps with ship insignia and what appears to be an OD green skullcap. Not a lot else out there? anyone notice anything different? Was looking to see if the eight point cover used in USMC today was used much.

The 8 point cover was not used in the movie..., but there was an black Caterpillar Diesel Power trucker hat too, (Worn by Spunk*something). I think there where no special cover for the cammies..

Any black or navy coloured "5-panel vintage snapback hat" with ship patch will do (both black and navy can be seen in the film and continuity polaroids) as well as "OG 106 Hot Weather Field Hat" (what I'm assuming you're likening to a "OD green skullcap". Both Drake and Gorman wear these). Spunkmeyer did wear a vintage Caterpillar Diesel Power snapback as well.

Could be fun to wear something different too, so it's up to you.

Don't quote me on this, but I "thought" I did see an 8 point cap in screen accurate camo many years ago. It might have been a one-off or maybe MAA did a small run? In any case, definitely not commonly used.

Regarding the screen used trio of caps, I think it is worth noting the OG-507 is functionally identical to the 106 (usually cheaper too). In addition to Gorman and Drake, Frost also wore one. Spunkmeyer also wore one for the costume fitting continuity polaroid's, but it never made it on screen.
The black snap back with a ship patch was worn by Apone, Ski, and Hudson.

Thanks for the confirms folks! Prolly gonna get a snap back one for fun, but I miss that stay-foamed 8-point cover that you could kill a man with if you wanted to. Im gonna see if there are any in the polish camo, lol!
