Post subject:  Yorkshire Props Stunt Pulse Rifle - Completed!

FINALLY finished painting up my Stunt Pule Rifle from Yorkshire Props.

Had an old tin of Humbrol Brown Bess I'd been saving for a special occaision, so this is the correct colour. Painted the black parts satin black. I took a little bit of artistic licence and painted the counter matt black, rather than just spraying over it with BB like the ones in the film, as I thought this would be more "realistic".

There is a slight sheen on the rifle, owing to the laquer coat being freshly applied. But it's a matt finish, so will dull down when it's fully cured.

Really happy with this :)

Nice job!

Some of the stunts did have a black counter window so you’re still screen accurate there.

Thanks, to be fair I didn't do that much filling, just the worst spots like yourself, and cut off the little "nubs" that were sticking up.

There's still quite a few dings and a some very rough areas not shown in these pics. Light reflecting from the freshly applied laquer is masking a lot of the imperfections in the photo.

Amazing job. Makes me want to add another pulse rifle to my collection of sci-fi guns.

I meant to give BigBisonT's channel a shoutout in this, but clean forgot. So I posted a link to his channel in the description bar.

Great video, good job. It was your posts here that made me pull the trigger on getting my own stunt casting from YP!

Great video Si!

I should point out that although a lot of stunt props are made from rubber the original stunt Pulse Rifles were made of (I think) fibreglass. To date I don't think anyone's definitely confirmed that there were any rubber ones made.

I've seen it in a few places but can't think where.

By the way please don't think I was trying to be a smartass or anything for pointing it out; it's just that the longer that incorrect information is out there in the public domain, the more chance it has of becoming 'fact'.

Alclad and Archive X do Brown Bess paints. Currently using the alclad on my Flamethrower.
