The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

With the apparent years of unresolved debate as to the function of the belt tool, I'm going with all three.
A grenade, a med injector, and a PR charger.
(Just hoping I don't grab the wrong one, in an emergency)

Nice stash!

Personally, I've never been a fan of the grenade theory, seems at odds with the PR grenades ...

The green & white ones definitely have the look of something medical already :)

Given they were removed from the smart gun also in the film i had them down as the squad carrying additional ammunition for the support weapons (smart guns)…

The belt tool and the SmartGun component may share the same origin, but they are incompatible units.

Could be power sources for the PR. No idea where’s they’d fit but that’s my two pence/cents

Perhaps some sort of emergency beacon? The wrist worn monitors and helmet mounted cameras may be okay for sending data to a nearby APC but what if the APC is taken out and a call for help needs to be sent to an orbiting transport?

The note on this polaroid has always stuck with me. "No phosphorus grenades".

Does the note mean they never made it to the set? Does the note mean that she has them (the belt tools) and they should be taken off (even thought they stayed on in the film).

Either way, it means that phosphorus and the ability to 'pop smoke' was in someone's mind in the costume department. To me this has to be near the top of the list for the belt tool's true purpose.

2nd place in my mind is a battery pack. Pulse rifles need to keep up their electronic pulse, motion trackers need to keep sweeping, shoulder lamps need to keep shining, and the shared body/foundation for the smartgun battery can't be ignored. A universal battery that could recharge any of their field equipment makes too much sense to be ignored.

Definitely one of those two in my opinion.

An original four-barrel, and the later "Ja-Ru".
Both in original Humbrol Brown Bess.

Picked up a Larami Strike Force Avenger.
Going to have to think of a new function.
Perhaps a C4 Clacker. (?)
