The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Does any one know the name/color/brand of the brown t-shirt (under the fatigues) worn by the marines? Can anyone provide a link to obtain one?

Coyote Brown undershirt, here's a few places to get them. Or at your local military surplus store.

Thanks! What about the belt? Do you know the name for that... beige webbing belt? Can that be found in these links as well?

1.25 tan belt with black open buckle

For the shirt, I recommend finding the older tan/khaki/sand shirts. Coyote Brown/ FDE are new shade darker colors.

Noble,

Would you say tan or olive drab? I know screenshots can be deceiving but I swear
Hicks shirt looks like olive drab on bluray when compared to these pics. This can't be tan or sand. Let me know your final thoughts! Thanks!!!!

standard t shirt was green, drake's was tan with design, frost's and ski's were grey with design. The trouser belt was the standard USMC tan belt with open frame buckle.

This might sound silly but does anyone have one of these belts or a photo of One? That would be great, it's just so I know exactly what to look for.

Cheers

Hi Gunny... Was there a design on Ski's t-shirt or was it plain?

Note the Bronica lighter hung from Hicks' belt loop!

Bit of a brown Bess vs olive drab debate going on with the shirts. I've seen publicity photos where they clearly look brown, but sure enough with that blue filter they look OD on screen. Wild

Necro bump after 5 years.

I recently had a discussion with someone about recreating Dietrich's undershirt. They said they wanted it OD. I mentioned I was leaning toward brown.
Plenty of argument to be made for both and probably very closely related to the "OD vs. Brown bess" preference discussion, but I have thoughts:

This continuity photo can surely lie (lighting) but looks pretty brown to me, also appears to have some kind of 'sheen' to the fabric.

When Dietrich is next to Spunkmeyer (or Hicks next to Gorman), the darker color is clearly visible vs the known OD flightsuit (and known OD officer uniform).

BUT ... I mean look at Vaz's chopped up shirt. That HAS to be OD right? Both colors used or simply lighting? In the mess hall the shirts all look more or less the same.

I would absolutely use a brown over an OD shirt for this. The lighting plays tricks, but (as you demonstrated above) they look different than the known olive drab uniforms in the film.
