The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

yeah he owns a screenprinting business and ive been printing for 13 years. its totally doable. just need to find an exact match.
the one in the game doesnt have the center seam, could be tricky to find. we can match the font and do the exact weathering in adobe illustrator.

This is looking great! I always liked the idea of the Marshals. It would be cool to see Seegson Security along with this!

Echo4890 that image is great! There is so much Alien Isolation art floating around from Creative Assembly that didn't make it into the hardcover book.

You might be better getting some Rub 'n Buff rather than paint. You can get a really metallic shine with it.

I have been playing around with different finishes. I may try Rub n Buff on one. Filling in the negative space with black paint is a must as well.

If hat printing doesn't work out (I'm sure it will work though) I have white heat transfer vinyl and a hat form for my heat press. I may have access to no cut vinyl which could add distressing too.

That badge is super cool too, liking the nod to the Alien rank badges.

Seven, PE102 gets my vote. Trying to match real-world items to a CG render can be maddening, but this us close enough for me.

its just , that center seam drives me nuts.

https://www.tsfsportswear.com/base/prod ... R-CAP.html

but if we can get 3 to 5 of these things ordered I think I can do it. More = cheaper. I'll put the time in, no charge.

its also very possible to just get the file made of the lettering with the exact,or close, weathering in Adobe illustrator. then I can just send that. Whatever you all wanna do, I'll help however I can. I can see what it would cost to have my friend make an accurate weathered logo in the correct font and size. then you could bring that to any shop and have it printed, although most shops may have a fairly large minimum order. lemme know, no rush.

might be just as easy to create the image and have someone print it as a vinyl stencil, then just use fabric paint.

Ideally you'd want a "Classic/Vintage 5-panel snapback cap"

I found ONE left on eBay that matches. I'll not post the link publicly as per the board rules of limited stock items, but if retro or seven message me I will share the auction link with them privately.

*EDIT:
Auction is Canadian American. The brand is apparently "Mohr's". I'll keep looking for more/similar

PM me when you get that as I am definitely interested in some more costume pieces of this type. Sadly an embroidery business owner I knew personally passed away a few years back and I could have had this done in person and helped.

Im awaiting a response from my friend about the sreenprinting.
The weathering in the hat photo suggests its screenprinted and we can definitly duplicate that exact weathering. I can also have embroidery done. the more the merrier on these runs, since the cost of making the screen and work time will get distributed anongst all the buyers on the first run.
I personally dont stand to gain anything in making these and I dont need one for myself but I want to help and be involved. Moosh if you dont wanna pay for shipping to the states and back I can get you the file, send it to everybody. Could even just have it designed accuratly with the weathering and even print it as a stencil, use some ebay screenprint ink and dry it at home. The file that gets made can get sent to everyone.

I don't do screenprinting, I use vinyl and a professional grade heatpress. I have access to "no cut vinyl" which is a two step process using a laser printer and heat press, and then pressing it to the garment.

Example:

I've made a quick file myself while I had some free time which I too can offer for free. Maybe yours is better?

I think you've got it handled! You have a cricut machine right?
I think for a build like this it might make sense to just make the logo and get it done at home.
Of course I can draw on a graphic designer, have screens made ect. but this might be more fun and cheaper to do oldschool.
If you can draw up a logo like that then I think that's the direction this build should go.

I have a 24" Redsail vinyl plotter, however this particular image shouldn't be cut using a machine. This is when you would utilize "no cut" transfer vinyl with a regular laser printer and heat press. The "distressing" can't easily be read by the machine and it makes a mess of it. Not to mention weeding afterward.

I wouldn't say not for you to try, I think you'd do a fine job with screenprinting.

If I did it, I would need to source hats. If there's more interest I could arrange assistance to do a small run.

Christian, if you're stuck I can certainly try to help you since you're helping me.

I hear you on all of that. I expect to hear from my buddy tomorrow.
I'm assuming that he will just take some images , find the same font, or flatten and adjust the image, then do the weathering in adobe. He'll probably just do all that for some beers. Lemme see what I can do about having a vector image made.

What's your email? I'll just send you the file I made. I never did find the font used, I combined two similar fonts.

How's this project been going? I found a few potential candidates for my own jacket last weekend. Couldn't get pictures, though.
