The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Here's where I stand:

1) My hat arrived at Moosh's house a week ago, so she is working on that.
2) I have a good start on the shoulder patches, but I need to get the curvature of the text to look right. I found a vendor on Etsy who will print onto round patches in full color, so I think I will go that route.
3) I need to identify the font for the writing across the back of the jacket. Probably the same as the hat? Then I will purchase a stencil from Moosh to paint it.
4) I am bartering goods for services with Seven, so he is working on a pair of 3D prints to finish off the equipment the Marshal would need.

Now tell me about the jacket you saw!

I'm terrified of wrecking the hat so I want to do some practice presses on an old shirt. Unfortunately my Mom is sick with a head cold so I won't have her working on anything until she's all clear, Apologies, but better to be safe!

I wasn't intentionally looking, but I stumbled across it while looking for new fall weather clothing. It was the right color and material (even had that back seam), but missing pockets and it was an XL, but very cheap. If I can find a smaller size, it could work.

Also, if you've got the game on hand, I found a simple trick to figure out certain colors on Waits's uniform . . . shine the flashlight on him, lol.

The interior of the badge depicted on the shoulder patches is red rather than black like the actual badge.

The shoes are a much darker gray than I thought.

If you really, really want screen accuracy, his pants are ripped in some spots. Not all the way through, but there are small tears in the fabric, primarily on his left thigh.

What I thought were pockets under his badge are actually just seams. The pockets are only on the lower part of his jacket.

Good catch on the patch colors! I'd assumed black.

TheSailingRabbit: This was what I had for the patch (still working on the curve of the text), does it match what you saw with your flashlight?

The colors on the interior are flipped.

Looks great!!. For the badge casting you can powder your mold with "alumilite Gold Metallic Powder" the casting will be a great even color.

My patches came in! I used a friendly vendor on Etsy to make them and even though they shipped from the UK I got them very fast.
I really might use velcro to attach these and eventually have Hadley's Hope (or my own placename) patches made up.

Thanks TheSailingRabbit!
A question for you: should the rectangles on the badge be filled in with red instead of black? I think I was fooled by the shadows into thinking it was black, but it would match the patches and lapel pins if it were red.

I had a hard time determining what the rectangles' colors are. Cutscene screenshots show black. In-game shots show a very dark red.

The portrait for Waits's wiki seems to show black as well.

I'm probably going to do a dark-dark red when I get around to painting mine.

Do you have a link to the seller please, Retro?
They look quite good, and I'm in the market for some other custom patches myself.

Wooo, wait?! So you didn't have to pay a setup fee, such as you would via a [bricks & mortar] embroidery shop????
Is there a limit to the complexity? ie they'll do a standard CM ships patch? Do they do clean-up as well (if say some detail &/or text is too thin to print)?

Sorry for the questions as there are really the sort of thing that the vendor can answer, but they're "taking a short break" at the mo, and I figure you might be able to provide insight backed on your orders. 8) 8) 8)
