The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I have been putting together a low-key costume during shelter in place of the Colonial Marshal from Alien Isolation. I really liked this addition to the expanded universe as it felt like a natural fit. I could see Hadley's Hope having a Marshal for example.

The costume itself is very basic, and martinr1000 and Seven helped me out with the designing and printing of the Marshal badge. I need to figure out where I can get the hat printed though.
Here are a few reference shots of Marshal Waits from Isolation. If anyone has clearer shots of his shoulder patches I would be very excited to see them. I am still on the lookout for a closer match on the jacket, but this leather one is still in keeping with the feel of the Marshals.

The Marshal's pistol is on Etsy as a 3D print file, maybe I can make this happen at some point too.

The patch appears to be the same logo as the badge (with the center in color like the Nostromo command pin) with "MARSHAL'S OFFICE SAVASTOPOL" written in the border around it.

Totally....I put a Colonial Marshal Office on the Hadley's Hope exterior blueprint in the book. Seemed much more realistic to me than having the Marines stationed there like the River of Pain novel. I really love how the security team in Alien Isolation uses elements of the marine armor in the design. Look forward to seeing your costume.

That is awesome Graham! I will go have a look. River of Pain was so full of inconsistencies and shoddy research I just tossed it in resell bin and ignored it.

that looks excellent! Having a little trouble with my printer this past week, but I'm sure I can get that pistol printed for you at some point.

I got some screenshots of Waits I'm going to use for my audiobook (which is on YouTube here - https://youtu.be/2a-gSFLlTK4) that has some good angles of the shoulder patches.

I can get those tonight when I get a little free time. Expect them by morning.

Maybe worth extracting the texture files and having a rummage, you should be able to get the patch image/s

The only thing I can deduce is that they're gray, but I can't figure what this kind of shoe is called.

Looks quite a lot like Black colored Jodhpur (aka Stormtrooper) boots, or police motorcycle boots.

By the way, where did you come across the jacket (I think Waits's is more of a dark navy-blue than straight black) and the trousers?

Everything in this build except the Marshal badge has come from my costume collection. I have a police uniform for another project, and the trousers are a good match.
I agree that Waits' jacket looks more navy, so I will keep an eye out for a better match when more ships have opened up.

Thanks. I was thinking about doing a Waits cosplay, so I was admittedly jealous upon seeing this thread. :P

I'm only five-two, so finding the trousers without needing to hem them will be a challenge.

My guess for the cap is to find sticker decals.

Do we know if the hat is a snap-back or flexfit?

It's possible that I could arrange a small run of these at my friends screenprinting shop, possibly a one-off.

This is the best I have for the back of the cap. It's mostly covered by his hair. I'll try and get some better ones when I get back from work later.

Oops, I just grabbed this one at Joann's Fabrics. It only cost $3 so no big deal if there is a better option.

Seven: trying to line up letters or a stencil on a hat seems daunting, if your friend was willing I would be very interested!
