The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I did a set of aluminum armour a few years back, but I wasn't 100% happy with my results. When BigbisonT set out to make his new set (and awesome instructional videos) I reached out to him. He had some spare parts left over, so we made a trade and I now have a great set of front and back plates.

I have the back brackets on, and the hardware for the shoulder lamp as well.

There's still plenty to do including cutting slits for the shoulder pauldron straps and the backplate straps, but I won't mount those elements until the painting is done.

I wish I could say that I did, but all the skilled labor was done by BigbisonT, I'm just bending and refining it a little for my needs. I traded an important item to him that will be part of his next video, so we both came away happy.

Here's where my greaves are at. The lower portion is a set of aluminum powder infused fiberglass casts from Stephen210, and the knee portion is hammered aluminum from BigbisonT. I finished riveting them back together this morning, and now I can begin the camo painting for the whole set. While I'm at it I will repaint my old set of plastic greaves, then I will have everything uniform and screen accurate across both sets or armour.

I finally tracked down a mannequin for my display, and began dressing him today. Turns out the arms lock too tightly against the torso for the armour to fit! I will need to modify the shoulder joints before I can move forward.

Thanks Mike!

So here he is for now. The armour still needs to be painted, and there is a slot on the neck of the mannequin for a helmet display rod, so I need to make or source one of those.

My display area is too damned cluttered, so I need to clean up and simplify the presentation.

I picked up one of the excellent welder kits from bad karma and am adding it to my display. Here is a shot before and after sanding:

Putting the pieces together for painting:

I do a base coat of olive drab first:

And then a thin layer of my Bess Brown alternative followed by a dusting of black spraypaint:

I still need to add the final greeblies and finish the smoked glass guard, but I am curious if the cylinder on the bottom of the handle should be left BB or painted black?

My finished hand welder! Badkarma did a great job making this kit, I would highly recommend it.

Thanks mate, that looks amazing!
Second time in 2 days I've seen one of my kits made better than my own builds  (other one is Stimpy's Vaquez headset)

Badkarma: your own build is excellent and went a long way to convincing me to buy your kit! I am really glad I did.

Finally getting some paint on this breastplate. I want this project done before I tackle any more!

Finally painted up my greaves. These are aluminum powder infused fiberglass leg pieces (by Stephen210) and hammered aluminum knee pieces by BigbisonT. The colors were matched to current Terry English reproduction armour.

As I ended up stealing my Spat resin camera housing (easier to modify) for my SmartGunner headset, I needed to add this beautiful Mike Rush version to the original helmet. Well, I should have marked the level first. Don't be the guy on the left!
