The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

As a few members are currently aware, along with 3d replicating things like the helmet camera and smartgunner headset, I have also been working on close to accurate files for the shoulder lamp. While I could easily make files for even the smallest part, I feel it is prudent to use non printed pieces when it is possible. With this in mind, I have been searching for the tall head screws on the outer corners of the Reflecta lamp case. See pictures...

I know this counts as a double post, but there is a certain order this NEEDS to be in, so please bear with me.

Now, on the subject of the screws, I have found some light duty shelving pins that are dimensionally close to the screws, but lack threads and slot, and has a flange at the point where the diameter changes. While they will work for my own needs, do you other members think they are good enough to recommend for persons wanting to use my files/making their own?

That's genius. I'd love to know how to put threading on those. Slots can be done with a dremel. The Flange actually looks great and holds the pieces in. I plan on building a lamp and this is one thing I'll try. It does seem like it could be a good bit of work though to get each one just right. I wonder if the real parts exist somewhere.
Also, what about just using a screw with the right threading and then capping it with something. piece of small pipe or even a 3D printed cap.

Threading die or lathe threading.

I suppose "all thread stock" capped with a custom machined cap nut would work, just wouldn't be cost effective for one off and budget builds, which is o e of my motivations for doing the 3d files to begin with.... cost.
