Because of boredom I decided to take a crack at making a holster for the VP70. It's going quite well at the moment, I'm just waiting for the adapter to arrive so I can get it all test fitted.
The adapter I'll be using is from g-code rti so it's going to be easy to take the holster of the drop leg panel.

This is obviously just for fun, although the pistol does work well in the holster and is held in just like a Kydex holster; it's clamped in pretty good and even if you turn it over and shake it about it won't fall out, which is the idea after all.

I'll be doing a kydex version at sometime.

It's nearly finished, just have to paint the back side of the holster, do a small bit of weathering and then it's finished.

I'll only be using it with the prototype armour I built a while back.

Its finished, but I'm just thinking about putting a strap on it. Although the pistol fits like a glove in the holster, the strap would be just for the safety function.

I don't know that it needs it, my kydex holsters don't have straps. I think it looks damn cool the way it is. Functional with style. Very nice

I'd be interested in getting one of these for my real VP-70, if you'd ever consider making them to order. I'd be more interested in a concealment style rather than a drop leg however. The main reason I don't carry it is that I've never been able to track down a decent holster for it.

Nice. Ditto in interested in one too. what did you make it out of? Aluminum?

Post subject:  Re: VP70 Holster

Yes it's all made from aluminium.

I made this just to go with my prototype armour, so basically it's a one off. Sorry guys.

I will be in the future trying my hand at a Kydex version,so stay tuned for that.

So now I went crazy and decided to make one for my Colt 1911. Worked out pretty well.

I still remember when we talked about how a matching pistol holster to your mag holder would look. Once again I really love your design approach and your craftsmanship. Stellar work, mate !

Built another version of the VP70 holster with a small grenade pouch for two grenades and a tactical torch pouch.
