For those of you who followed my recent GRiD laptop conversion, I made a video documenting the process, which I've just uploaded to YouTube. Enjoy... https://youtu.be/glOCiTLbbeA |

I can usually download content from YouTube without any problems. Is there something in your upload setting that prevents that? Harry |

That's weird. I use Video DownloadHelper, which normally works really well. I'll try that one, cheers! Harry |

All good now, thanks for the heads-up on the other downloader program. As others have said, you've gone a great job there. I have an old Grid somewhere - do you take commissions? Harry |

Of course. I’m not sure where my Grid is at the moment so once I find it I’ll drop you a line. Harry |

Superb work buddy !! Easy to follow and encouraging video-instruction with good pacing. And finally your Grid turned out a more "Cleaner & thoughtful" build up than my quick-shot in those days. Subscribed & liked !!! |

Sadly not, I was sent some instructional files on how to code my own program for a Raspberry Pi, but haven't had time to look into them Spent most of last year redecorating my house (still got the kitchen to do), plus been working on other props, which are in various stages of completion. So no idea when I'll get round to that |

Greg I did not make it, I made it work: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=3019 Now on the pi 4, raspberry pi OS will not support the terminal program as the swf file format support in the os has kind of been dropped. I have spent many hours trying to get the OS to play things, but nothing seems to work right. The best option is to figure out how to convert to html5 over flash but I am not having much luck there either. |

gman666 wrote: Gabe made a countdown program I thought. Thanks! Greg There is a Flash program, but that won't work on Raspberry Pi. Probably won't work on many other computers either now, as mentioned elsewere, Flash is no longer supported. |

This is my low tech static screen. Attachment: I used PowerPoint to resize a picture till it fit. I printed each resizing attempt, 5 times, on regular white printing paper in black and white till happy with the size. Not technical at all. Once happy I printed it on overhead film in color. Quick cutout later I slid it into place. It is static but removable. Thanks! Greg |

The slide transparency thing is very popular in academia and mighty handy for other applications as well. Also powerpoint is great for making slideshow photo gallery videos with just a few button clicks... |

I've used a 7" digital photo frame that I picked up cheap. It can do photo or video so I've grabbed the demo video of the software running and got that running on the frame. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MVObH7wHK4Y Also used an online SWF to EXE convertor to make the software run on PC, not sure how useful it will be though |

A possibilty to run the Flash file is the use of a Raspberry Pi 3B (no 3b+, no 4, no3A whatever). Still available in numbers on evilbay. The only os which supports the download of Gnash (the Flash Player) is Raspbian Stretch 2017-09-07. So this might encourage some of you to do as Simon and i did. I also have a image file of my os (including proper Colors, installed Gnash and swf File and a Grid Splash Screen) which i can share. But as i said this only runs on a Raspberry Pi 3B.
