In terms of writing, I haven't strayed away from the era of Aliens much. Last night, I talked with a friend about potentially taking a few steps back in time to explore the era of Isolation in a miniseries from the perspective of Marshal Waits.

So far, nothing has been set in stone. I'm pretty good with creating subplots and "meaningful filler," but an overarching plot is what I'm presently struggling with, and I'd like some ideas from the Legacy community.

The series would be original, just taking place in the era of Isolation, like 3-5 years before Sevastopol goes down.

The number one issue I see in Isolation fanfiction is that writers simply retell the Amanda Ripley story without adding anything new.

Actually, that's an issue with most retellings/rewrites of the films. It's why I was hesitant on doing the classic "rewrite of Aliens where everyone survives" until someone gave me an idea of how to make it work. Only a couple of events and some lines of dialogue are the same as they are in the film.

With this project, it's going to be more of a character exploration.
