only good with the 5.8ghz solutions, but all in one and small so not sure if it can fit in another housing and still work.

I found this alternative:

I am not sure if you can make it fit in the monocole for the smartgunner headset.

Nice work.
I'd also stumbled over the 2nd link and wondering if it would be any good (esp as it's not too expensive to test with).

I think the biggest [potential] issue with any of these is the focal length vs mounting, as the depth of the SG monocle isn't very much at all.

And that is why my R&D is so darned expensive. I keep on buying parts that will not work. So far the vufine is an option. But, I found another outfit that has a decent setup with driver board that could work.

These folks seem to have the best options, but you pay for the best option. Fortunately you can get all the pieces in one shop, which to me, is the best option of all above everyone else.

Most other stores are selling pieces for cameras and what not expecting you to fabricate the driver board and such.

For olighttek I priced out about 600 for all the needed pieces. the higher resolution displays pushed that price up to 1400 so I was going to go with vga resolution.

Sadly I would have to mod the eyecup piece to make things fit.

The other option is to see what Edmunds optics has for a periscope fpv monocular setup.
