I have been out of commission due to my torn bicep and surgery but I am off restriction and getting back into the swing again. So this black Friday I a got a new 3d printer. I picked up the EVNOVO (Artillery) Sidewinder X1. I picked this printer over the CR 10 version of printer because it has direct extruder over the nozzle. The build volumes are the same if not similar at 300mm x 300mm x 400mm. The deal I got directly from the company was one I could not pass up. So after I assembled it Friday I printed some needed mods to see how it prints. I was not disappointed. I started a facehugger print last night and will post the pics below. As I am posting this the 29 hour print just completed. I tweaked the file and increased it 500% to make close to life size. The print looks beautiful. Once I brace up the z axis, I will start the life size egg. Pics to follow. UPDATE: The print is beautiful but the supports suck. I definitely have to play with the settings before my next print. It is now midnight and I have work tomorrow. Sorry but the pics will have to wait till tomorrow evening. Hope to start my egg print at that time. I planned on using PETG but think I just might use PLA. My concern was temp but the egg should be fine as long as I do not leave it in the car. I am afraid that the PETG fumes might suck since this printer does not fit my last enclosure. Thanks! Greg |

Holy hell the supports suck on this model. I can use this for my top shell but if I want to display a copy at the fan table I am going to have to print it again in another configuration. It totally blows my other 3d printed facehugger away. Working on an egg at the moment while I try to salvage this. Pics soon. Thanks! Greg |

Here are the pics of the facehugger. Like I said above I resized it to be close to lifesize, upscale 500%, which might of caused the support issues. Once again I will retry the print later this week as I am scaling up an egg at the moment. Attachment: Thanks! Greg |

Very nice, how long did the larger print take? I just made a tiny sulaco to test it, about to make a giant one. ive got an Ender 3 printer. I might have to make a facehugger to wear on my costume so peole dont think i'm "call of duty". |

Like I stated above 29 hours. This was just using stock settings in Simplify3D. When I reprint will be using some different settings. I plan on orientating it differently and using different supports. |

I suggest printing it in two pieces, and print the halves vertically. |
