Anybody else going as a character in the Alien(s) universe, maybe to a costume party, etc?

For the first time in about 10 years, I dressed up today at work, and my costume was Al Simpson from Hadley's Hope. I shaved off my goatee that I've had for 25 years, bought a cheap wig, wore a shirt that I had made for me based on the one worn by actor Mac McDonald, had a WY name-badge and ID card made (I made the ID card, even though Simpson didn't wear one, just to have an image of the actual actor to show to people who didn't know the character.) It was a lot of fun, except...

Only one person at work recognized me. One. At a college where I've taught for 15 years. Most of the rest thought I was - I kid you not - a new janitor wearing a bad toupee, and thought Weyland-Yutani was our new housecleaning contractor. Then it got worse. Only two students of mine had even heard of "Aliens". They had almost all heard of the "Aliens: Colonial Marines" but only two knew the game was based on a movie. I shaved my goatee for that?

P.s. love the costume, I'm a big fan of all the peripheral / minutiae, and reckon they deserve to be represented [even if they don't get recognised. Perversely, I actually think that's part of the fun of it].
