The predator blood was a half/half mix of KY Jelly and fluorescent green glowstick juice. The xenomorph in alien got its sheen from KY Jelly In Aliens they used a similar approach but I was having issues finding what was used. In AVP there were mentions of using lots of KY Jelly and condoms for the tendrils. The books mention a goo or slime that they have in buckets. I am having issues running down the recipe. I was thinking a slime demo or sample for the kiddos might be a good intro to aliens at tables. |

Could just have a big punch bowl full of Ky jelly, water and condoms.when people walk by we can scoop out a big dripping heap and whip it straight at peoples faces and scream at them to join the legacy. |

Personally do not think this is a good idea. Any slime handed out is going to be everywhere and you are going to have extremely unhappy attendees, parents and con owners. Kids love the stuff but parents hate getting it out of hair and clothes. And if it happens to stain that just sealed your fate. To stay in good standing with cons I would vote no. But it does have me wanting to look at promotional glowsticks. Thanks! Greg |

they do have those plastic cans of slime thats green or the glow in the dark ones at walluworld. could always make Aliens legacy labels and stick em on in place of the normal sticker. |

Bit expensive for something that will almost exclusively be taken by kids who just like slime; so little to no return/reward for the the group in terms of new members etc. Also, as mentioned already, slime is a goddamn pain in the ringpiece to get rid of if it spills on anything - My kids used to make it til I banned it outright in the house after several cushions, stuffed toys, items of clothing and a carpet were ruined. |

Methyl cellulose is also found in fiber drink mixes. There are tons of kits available to make home made slime...BUT....s was said, slime might be too messy a thing to be handing out at conventions. |

Since slime is hella messy, why not investigate how the films achieved the acid blood burning through floors?. I recall reading somewhere that it was a safe alternative to using real acid but can't remember what. You can have a few small floor tiles to "burn" as a demonstration. It would keep kids fascinated and scared to touch at the same time. |

According to this source, they used styrofoam deck parts and a mixture of acetone and other organic solvents for the blood. So it's pretty easy to emulate, but by no means safe to use around people without PPE. |

Was just commenting on the fact that acetonbe + styrofoam is the exact recipe for napalm given in good ol' "How folk my age aren't dead is beyond me" Jolly Roger's Cookbook! Add egg-whites for extra stickiness... :p But yeah, it's certainly not a recipe we ( Or anyone ) should be suggesting to little kids! Health and Safety wasn't as big a thing in the pre-2000s; and pyrotechnic departments used to take great pleasure in overloading their bangs for a laugh ( Or on occasion accidentally ). A little knowledge can be a dangerous thing - As proved today with the 56 year old grandma whose offspring threw a gender reveal party for THEIR offspring - Overdid it with the explosive in their "gender reveal party popper"; accidentally made a pipe bomb and killed Granny with flying shrapnel! |
