Post subject:  Question on geneology of the Crew on Aliens

It is all readily apparent that the synthetics/artificial humans are only known as such to only 1 or 2 folks on the ship in certain circumstances. In the comics it was generally known who the synthetics were, but not always. Sometimes no one knows who the synthetic is. I think reading on things it was to build suspense and add drama to the story line when such information was left out.

For the USCM marines we have:
Dwayne Hicks
Lance Bishop
jenette Vasquez -> she has a sister Carmen Vasquez in the comics who is also a Marine.
Al Apone
Scott Gorman
Mark Rolston
Ricco Ross
CPL Ferro
Mark Drake -> note he and Vasquez met at a young age and there were questions of a romantic interest at some point.

As far as the Canon goes I have not found reference to any ancestors or family tree/geneology knowing whose father and grandparents were on a given marine.

As aliens occurred in 2179 and it being 2019 now and you average 50 years a generation that comes out to 3.2 generations from now to then.

So now that would mean that their Great-grandparents would be kicking and in the marines or the space force as it were. And what is not to say that those great grandparents are not what inspired them to join the marines.

Is it possible? Maybe. In Hicks's case, it's a plausible yes, because that shotgun of his was made in World War II. I think he's got strong family ties to the military.

For the others . . . eh.

I like to think they're all different people with different backgrounds that came together in this unit. Whether their great-grandparents were Marines all depends on how deep into a fanfiction hole you want to dig yourself, because the canon stopped caring about the Sulaco crew. Now everything has to tie to Ripley and if it doesn't tie to Ripley in some way, shape, or form, it's pointless. Personally, I don't like some of the newer comics and novels, and I'd honestly be OK if they don't fudge around with the Marines. Besides, the film says they've never encountered the Xenomorph before (unless a really drunk Hudson partied with Abe and doesn't remember, lol), and in order for any Alien media to sell . . . it has to have Aliens.

I haven't gone deep into people's family history in my fanfiction. There's no need for it, unless it fits with a plot point.

Well I am working on a short fan script film to incorporate some crossover characters and was thinking it would be cool to use the ancestors of the sulaco crew. I was thinking it would be a good way to go back to the roots of our fandom and try to grow more interest in the aliens film.

OK, let me write myself into a corner. I tried to make sure there were no facsimiles to movie stars or actors that were obvious or blatent.

Whoops. Mind got a bit mushy from figuring out the cast ancestry.

Hudson's great great great grandfather was a soldier in the U.S. Army in 1981, and his great great great uncle was an intercept officer in 1985.( He did have another great great great uncle, who sadly died in his early 20s in 1984, under suspicious circumstances. He was something of a black sheep though, so the family never much spoke of him. )

His great great grandfather was a police officer in Los Angeles, and also died under circumstances unknown - The files were sealed by the LAPD.
His grandfather was a Master Sergeant in the US Army, specialising in mechanised combat.

;)

I thought they were sealed by OWLF.

Oh, and Hudson's got an ancestor who studied the Titanic wreck.

And Drake has an ancestor who got the stuffing beat out of him in Shawshank State Prison.

Would this fit within the information:

Hudson GGGG father > Predator > Gen Phillips?
Hudson GGG uncle > predator > Blain?
Hudson GGG Uncle > predator > Helicopter Pilot in predator?
Hudson GG Father > P2 > Danny Archuleta
Hudson G Father > Christopher Hudson ?
Drake ancestor > shawshank redemption > Andy Dufresne
Hudson ancestor > studied titanic > Jack Grimm ?

LOL - I was really just kidding around, and the number of "great"s is likely way off...

But for the record, my references were:

Hudson's great great great grandfather was a soldier in the U.S. Army in 1981 - Stripes

his great great great uncle was an intercept officer in 1985. Commando

( He did have another great great great uncle, who sadly died in his early 20s in 1984, under suspicious circumstances. He was something of a black sheep though, so the family never much spoke of him. ) The Terminator

His great great grandfather was a police officer in Los Angeles, and also died under circumstances unknown - The files were sealed by the LAPD. Predator 2

His grandfather was a Master Sergeant in the US Army, specialising in mechanised combat. Edge Of Tomorrow

And I forgot Navy Seals :(
