The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Is that a boxing helmet in Hicks's locker?

If it is, why is it there?

As a writer constantly looking for new things to expand upon with these particular characters, I'm willing to theorize the USCM had recreational sports as part of physical or mental health programs, and Hicks happened to take up boxing, even though he doesn't look the type. It may've been something he did to relieve stress (because what else would you want to do after struggling to keep Hudson out of trouble all day?) or something casual he's kept up since before enlisting.

Well, Michael Biehn has said boxing is one of those things he does to stay in shape, so maybe it's another bit of personalization like armor decoration.

Never noticed that and I've watched the film a few times; Maybe it's a sort of recreational thing they do while on board? There's got to be a rec deck somewhere.

I was about to suggest a rec deck might not be needed since the crew spends most trips in cryo.

But it's also possible there are trips that take less than a week and wouldn't require cryo, but a rec deck would be needed to alleviate boredom.
