I’ve got my alien costume and worn it at one con. But I’d like to do something about the hanging tail. Any ideas what people use as a rod tho insert inside the tail to make it flexible and hold its shape and even stop it dragging on the ground. Any help would be great. Cheers

Fishing line to hold it up.
Thanks!

It's possible to put curved plastic pipe into the tail; you can open up the tail by "filleting" it along the side seams. But, this requires a pretty tight harness to your abdomen or a rigid back piece to keep it up. And it looks dead because it doesn't move.
Fishing wire is better in every way provided you can tolerate it being a fully obvious closeup. You will need to thread the fishing wire through a small tube to stop it slicing into the tail. Theatrical microfibre is even thinner and can be bought from magic shops but it's expensive and not as strong.

Ive used fishing line in many different configurations. But it kinks. I’m thinking a combination of a flexible arm inside the tail with the added support of fishing line. Thanks heaps guyd

I've never really had much problem other than finding the correct point on the tail so it hangs off the ground, but swings nicely without curling over itself.
You are attaching the other end right up near the top of the back, right? Connecting it near the base of the tail doesn't work so well.

connection is at the top just under the rear back hoses tubes or whatever they are called. Ive ordered 140cm with of rigid flexible hose/ arm to insert in the tail. Should be able to flex and shape in without it getting uncontrollable with only the fishing line
