The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Titles says it all. Until I can save up the funds to get a Xenomorph suit for the mannequin, I would like to get a cardboard cutout to have at the fan-table. This would also help with the charity dart shooter I am working on. I have poured over the internet and cannot find one. Found just about every other character. If anyone knows of a source let me know.

Thanks!

Greg

Get one custom made?

Mind you, a cardboard cutout will get ratty VERY quickly - Maybe better to get a roll-up-banner with a bug on it, with a neutral background colour?

I have looked at getting them made but the whole copyright issue keeps coming up. Plus if I can find one already on the market the cost would be way less. As for it breaking down over time, it is only temporary.

Thanks!

Greg

Hmmmm, good point about the cardboard cutout showing wear. We've used those show banners that you pull up and fasten a pole at the top and bottom base to secure it. But, I'd imagine more pricey than a cardboard cutout - I think prices range from $149-189

You could get one printed on vinyl and have it glued to a piece of aluminum board and the whole thing cut out with a jig-saw. I don't know for sure what that would cost, but I work for a sign shop and we do a lot of these type of things. They would hold up much better than cardboard...BUT....they also won't fold or be all that easy to haul around. Six of one, half dozen of the other as they say.

The long term plan will be to use the silhouette of at least one Xenomorph, egg, egg w/ facehugger, and chestburster for the shooting booth. The silhouette will be projected onto a sheet of thin paneling or particle board and traced. It would be cut out with a jigsaw, divided in the middle horizontally, covered with a felt material that darts can stick to, and hinged so it can be stored/transported.

Again the cardboard would just be a temporary at a few cons to go with the background. I want to do this as low cost as I can while keeping the quality high, yes I know this an oxymoron.

Thanks!

Greg

I totally understand the line you are trying to walk with this. There was that big door poster that was made years ago....might that work? Although finding one would be the problem.
