The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

For screen accurate patches (and BDUs) you may want to contact https://www.chefscreations.co.uk/.
If you search you will find in the forum also seller contact details for the name tapes and there is also member who makes the dog takes.
You should get access to the Base PX (Buy/Sell/...) area http://forum.alienslegacy.com/viewforum.php?f=14 soon.

I finally found an OG106 gorman cap, it will display well with my racal headset.

I have read many topics but i want to be sure, the Gorman's jacket is an US m65/51 era modify at the neck or 65 austrian?
The pants is an og 507 ?

thanks

The uniform pants & shirt shirt combo were custom made for the film, so you won't really find the 'actual' pants. In my opinion the closest real-world garment for the pants is the OG507, but I bet you can find regular OD slacks that look just as good. The main thing is they should not have cargo pockets.

The Jacket was likely original M65. I have seen the thread here where some declared it "definitely" an M51, but it is my understanding the collars are different (although there may be a variant I am not aware of). The straight almost mandarin collar style is correct as found on M65s. The epaulettes will need to be removed whichever jacket you decide to use. Also the jacket collar needs to be shortened to the zipper (remove the zip out hood feature) and if you wanna be real accurate, sew in some ribbing like 'SimonT' did.

Personally, I used an Austrian one when I built mine for 2 reasons. Price (cheaper than vintage) and still has the "sheen" (almost shiny from the waterproofing) to it. That sheen is visible in some pics of Gorman as his jacket was clean and new. Most vintage ones are expensive and almost always look worn out. The downside to the Austrian is the inner liner doesn't zip out like the vintage, so it is very hot in warm weather and can't be made lighter. But hey, it is better to look good than to feel good, eh?
