Post subject:	Anyone tried bluing a Thompson?
I have been gathering parts for my Hero M41 build and I was thinking about trying to strip the receiver of a CYMA Thompson and then blue it. Anyone tried this, and were you successful? I'm not sure if it's worth the effort because I'll have to paint the plastic frame no matter what, and it might be difficult to get them matched.

If it's a zinc or aluminum alloy, then Super Blue ought to work. What's the original finish of the CYMA?

I am not sure what they used for the original finish. I went over mine with a magnet tonight, no steel there, so I will probably just paint it.
