The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

been a long time comming, original plans for this fell through, so i decided to undertake the task myself, i figured seeing as i painted the armour i could certainly manage it, my first ever helmet build, lots of time spent on the pepakura parts, sand, fill, prime, sand, fill, prime, sand and so on and so forth until they had a finish like a moulded part.:

ive spent 2 weeks on this, maybe real time has been 5 solid days from parts to end pics

1x m1 helmet with liner, camo cover and band: £30
2x headphone sockets and 5mm lengh of ali: £6.50 - slit with a dremel to create the mic grooves
1x resin camera £20 delivered
1x pentax lens £20 delivered
1x spat ir sensor £40

Pepakura files for the:
strikeplate, rear lobster plates, and all the ear sections

already had the humbrols, fibreglass resin, milliput, p38, wet and dry so it was a simple build, had zero headaches making it, everything sits where it should when worn. i will say hacking the helmet was fun - dremel was definetly needed :):)

so some pics now its done:

yep all the add on plates were pep, this was what played most on my mind - could i pull it off, but worked perfectly........mainly as i over indulged the top coats of resin for preperation of alot of sanding back, 5 individual coats of poly resin so i eouldnt sand it back so much to go through the paper:

Im a fan of bringing back old threads. That lobe plate/ strike plate looks good. I did mine with eva foam and bondo and I thought it was a lot of work, but not compared to the work that you must have put in to that.

Since the guy hasn't logged into the site since 2014, I doubt he will upload them.

That said, this is a great build! Nice find Seven. Might even have to toss this one into the fanmade armor all star list. It was well executed.

What is odd though, is the photos look 100% normal to me when I check this thread on my phone, and they are they blurred out photobucket ones on my desktop. Anyone able to explain that one? I mean, i have both open right this second and the photos are glorious on my phone. Wonder if I can actually save the jpg on my phone of the good photo, then manually upload them to the forum on the desktop to make it make sense...may try tomorrow.

You could also maybe screenshot them, then it automatically shrinks the file size. These should be preserved.

OK, I have updated this thread with the original images in their spots. It is now established forever (*)!

This was an amazing build with craftsmanship. Unfortunately not every Photobucket (or dead host site) issue can be resolved by saving pics from your phone instead of the website. Please send actual image files along so I can restore the rest of the valuable threads on this forum! Just saying. Classic example of what we lose when these images die. Don't let them die! Send them along and I will update the posts. Thanks
