Hi folks.

The name's Al & I'm based near a town called Sligo on the west Coast of Ireland. Been a big fan of Alien & Aliens since the mid 80's when Aliens was released.

I've been involved in costuming for the last 5 years mainly with the Emerald Garrison, but have recently signed up to the 501st/Rebel Legion Ireland base. I currently costume as the only 'Old Ben' Kenobi in Ireland & the U.K.

My love for all thing Aliens has increased since my kids came along as they are huge fans as well, so after thinking about it the last year. I've finally made a start on a Colonial Marine. I already have my Polish Desert BDU's, and my boots, belt & t shirt should be arriving in the next week. For the armour I'm going Spatcave, that'll be over the next few months though.

Looking forward to getting things sorted to get out on a Bug Hunt.

Cheers,
Al.
 :delta:

That's a good question, I don't actually know!!
I was gonna go with spulse rifle from Spatcave or maybe look online in the E.U for a used Airsoft one.

The last con I went to completely banned any guns that werent foam. But theres a few people on here recently that made some incredible
pulse rifles from EVA. that thread I linked you to especially. But I do here that spats pulse rifles are absolutely awesome. I personally have the matrix pulse from evike and its incredible for the price, however I dont think I'll ever get to bring it to a con with how butthurt and paranoid theyre all getting lately.

Get to know the convention organizers. More often than not if you can reassure them you are there to make the con a better experience AND they know you, there can be some leniency...

Also get to know your town/city's planning commission as they can also grant some leniency if they know you are not there to create trouble, but help make things better.

In the UK where the UKCM are invited to a con we generally have no issue with weapons so long as we stick to the UKCM rules for carrying.
