The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Hi, I’m a British guy living in Finland with a keen interest I making a colonial marine costume for
Conventions. I’m interested in the marine with the flame thrower because I love interacting with crowds and improvising. How difficult would it be to but a co2 cannon into the gun to make it fire a coloured jet on co2.

Also how much, kit could a colonial marine armour kit cost ?

Seb

Im not too sure of your intentions but im pretty sure it will not be allowed at conventions! A colonial marine armour set for just the armour will be around £500 to about £3000 and then there is all the extras to go with the armour set such as bdu's, boots, shoulder lamps, ect, ect!

The idea is to bring more interactivity to the audience but yes, I guess co2 cannon would be a bit extreme after seeing them in action. Conventions are relatively new over in Finland and a lot of them are outside so under the right conditions it would be allowed. I was playing with the idea of having a an e-cigarette system which is much softer. I’ll see what I can do. Cheaper also.

Ok so the armour can mount up to be quite a lot, what is the material. Resin ?

Would that price include someone painting and varnishing it for me ?

there are multiple armour kits out there all made in different materials as for painting that would norm be extra costs I would suggest you look at a few sites just google chefs creations /spat cave or even terry English if you have the money to give you an idea theres is also a long waiting list for most sites kits these days the odd painted kit also turns up on ebay every now and then

-Use fiberglass or bondo, body filler to make it rigid.

-pop rivets or english screws to secure webbing.

-acrylic paints for camo

-polish desert camo BDUs are close to the real thing and cheap

-ww2 or vietnam M1 steel pot helmet, resin replica helmet camera, lobe plate from eva foam covered in bondo, lobster plates from whichever material you like.
