Hello all, Can you tell me the colours used for the different parts of Hicks's shogun ? Grip : Fore-end : Receiver : Barrel + magazine : A few years ago I bought a replica (full black) and I have decided to give it a paint job! Thanks |

Grip - Black duct tape Foreend - Weathered wood (dark brown) Reciever/barrel/magazine - "Blued" steel. So pretty dark gray/black. The most recent pics of it came from the 'propstore' I believe. The tape was removed from the grip and the finish on the metal parts looks a bit worn out, so it looks pretty bright. But it was originally dark 'blued' steel and in the film it is certainly not bright. |

This was probably done to conceal the fact they replaced the Ithaca grip with an MP-40 smg grip. Hope this helps. Kevin |

Because the one that I received looks more like the second one as there is no hole in the grip. |

They are the same grip, but the hole is covered by tape on screen. In the prop-store pic the tape has simply been removed revealing the mp40 grip. Try a metal grid for the base, then a secreted resin look for the upstand parts, maybe out of papier mache?
