I'm ready to read the whole thing. I don't mind knowing what might have been.

I’m not hugely confident (Dark Horse doesn’t have a great track record at depicting the Colonial Marines) but interested. I’ve been fascinated by Gibson’s script for years and this adaptation will be as close as we’ll ever get to a proper Alien 3 movie. Then again, they’re kind of starting off on the wrong foot by having the UPP operating a UD-4L Cheyenne...

Do you know if that Stokoe's art, Willie?

So according to his script, and looking at the image above, did the egg "grow" out of Bishop somehow?

The arm guns need some sort of laser targeting in my opinion. Simple point and shoot from the arm seems a little reckless from an engineering design standpoint.

Anyone have an indication of retail price?

I should imagine it'd be the usual amount per issue. £3/$5.

Aaah cool, I was assuming it was a TPB ... I might hold off then.

My understanding is that single sales and pre-orders are more beneficial to the actual series. If seeing more of these kind of adaptations of other scripts is of something of interest to you, might be better to go and order the singles.

It's cool that they're turning it into a comic book, but I never liked the idea that you could "infect somebody with aliens." There's no point to facehuggers in the life cycle if simply scratching a host results in a zombie virus like infection or something to further the propogation of the species. Bishop sprouting an egg or little aliens (IIRC) was even sillier. If they can infect inorganic androids then why not rocks and trees? Sorry stuff not making sense is a pet peeve of mine.

To be fair, there was a bit more to than that. In regards to #1, I've really enjoyed the first issue! So nice to see everything getting visualized after all this time. Only thing I dislike is the UPP rocking up in that dropship. I'm so keen to keep going. The wait for this series is going to be a flipping nightmare.

I picked up some original art from the series. The link is http://comiconart.com/artist/Johnnie-Christmas

They are posting up pages from issue 2 pretty soon.

When I first read the script quite a while back, I thought the infection angle was way off the mark, and the script was kinda nuts. Having reread it recently, I actually rather like it now. Seems like the infection angle is becoming Canon of sorts now, with Ridley's new movies. Even the novels seem to be saying the face huggers are simply injecting black goo into the host, rather than an embryonic alien. Not particularly a fan of that change though...
Definitely excited to see this though. I like these what if stories with familiar characters.

Just read that this is getting turned into an audio drama with Michael Biehn & Lance Hendrickson reprising their roles as Hicks & Bishop

That took me by surprise but I'm really looking forward to that. I've thoroughly enjoyed the previous ones so I'm quite excited to see what Dirk Maggs does with this. Particularly chuffed that we'll be getting to hear Biehn and Henriksen back.
