The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I'm trying to put together a James Cameron costume on an Ed Wood budget. The new US Army Combat Uniform Multicam / Scorpion has too much green in it (though it fades quite a bit on used uniforms). The same goes for British MTP. US Woodland has the right blob size, but once again, too much green. Multicam Arid seems to have the closest colorway, but the blob size is too small.

What commercial camo pattern looks closest to USCM BDU's to you lot?

Polish Desert is the most popular 'fill in'. Not always easily found in the US but may be as close 'in spirit' as you will find in mass production.

I just recently discoverd "Spanish Desert Camo". Also not shabby.

This is also something I've been thinking about.
The only time I've worn my armour out I combined it with UK MTP.
Right now I'm telling myself that I will buy the proper pattern when I can (probably late summer/autumn) but until then want a stand in that is at least half decent.
As has alrdy been said Polish desert pattern is good but even that would set me back about £80 and I'd rather not spend that on a temporary fix.
However, I happen to have a set of replica WW2 US marine reversible camo (bought for an early attempt at a Star Wars Rebel Endor Trooper costume) and I was thinking about using the desert side.

That pattern is pretty rad! And they're US$50/set on Ali Express. I can always take the pockets off the sleeves, and it already has a mandarin collar. Thanks for the tip!

I get my Polish stuff from military1st.co.uk - fast shipping for overseas and they have never let me down.

I got my Spanish Desert ACU's from China today. The blobs have pixelated edges to them, which doesn't necessarily show up in a lot of the photos online, and is hardly noticeable beyond hand shaking distance.

I'm going to end up sending them back though, because the extra small is still too big for my son, even with extensive tailoring. We're going to rock Scorpion/OCP/Multicam. It's less screen accurate, but at least we'll match.
