The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Hello everyone!

I am Moosh, currently a Recruit, but I am looking to put together a shirt for now, kinda based on Gormans from the apartment scene, but female and less "Formal".

I have scoured the internet and found nothing suitable for me until I hit my breaking point, then miraculously this shirt just jumped out and was like "CLICK HERE MOOSH!!!" haha.

http://www.blankclothing.com.au/militar ... esale.html

Trying to find a blank ladies military styled shirt was terrible, but I am glad I found this one!

Now onto my condition. As you can see by my current avatar, I am in a powerchair. I am affected by a rare form of muscular distrophy, making my muscles very weak. I am most comfortable in short sleeved lightweight, soft shirts, as long sleeves can sometimes "weigh down" my arms and make it harder to move.

I know this shirt is not "screen accurate" but I am willing to sacrifice that for comfort. This is THE ONLY shirt I have found.

I don't live near any army surplus stores either, in fact, by the looks of it I am the only registered member in the province of Saskatchewan haha. (I also live rural)

I like that this shirt has roll up sleeves, as some short sleeves tend to still be too long or baggy for my small build. I end up looking REALLY underweight, like I am on my way out or something (I used to be, but not anymore haha).

So would this shirt pass? I was thinking of getting the beige colour, although the green looks cool too, perhaps later I will spring for a green one provided they are still available.

The sooner I get opinions the better, I hope to order it soon as it will take a few weeks to get here from AU. (Plus we only get mail 3 days a week out here in the sticks haha)

Thank you!

The beige looks only just off white on my monitor, but the design looks okay to me.

We're not exactly anal about wearing screen accurate stuff on here, so as long as you're happy to wear it, that's fine. :)

Now all you need is a few patches/name tapes and you're ready to rock and roll. 8) :delta:

Thanks PVB, I know it looks a bit white to me too, but I'm sure it will be more tan or khaki when I get it. (at least that is my experience with stuff like that so far)

I was thinking I want to be a Corporal (Because when I played my first ranking game on PC, I only ever made it to Corporal haha), so I have been looking for patches for a khaki shirt and I found these:

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/150612325237?ssP ... 1438.l2649

They are smaller, so they should fit good although I am not sure about the style with the crossed rifles, after I saw some patches on CamoTechs website, they have ALIENS inspired rank patches with a pulse rifle instead. I emailed them and asked them if they could make or get Corporal ones in female sizes, but haven't gotten a reply yet. Or maybe you know of some that would be suitable?

I was thinking of just putting one rank patch on the left sleeve (my left when wearing) below a flag patch, and using the other on a hat that I bought, but maybe something else should go on the hat instead?

I'm sure I will have more questions soon, no doubt!

Depends on how screen accurate you wanna go, but here's Gorman's shirt on our very own Harry Harris' Aliens Collection site:

http://www.harryharris.com/shirt.htm

Some of us with rank patches just have the plain stripes, but if you want to go for the US Marines stripes with crossed rifles, no worries. :)

Thank you!

I was thinking of going with plain stripes, but I haven't found any in green on khaki in smaller sizes, although I plan to keep looking.

*EDIT* I found these, although they are not green on khaki: http://www.acuarmy.com/corporal-class-s ... -1637.html

As for other patches, I am Canadian so I think I will go with some of Dom's patches, but I need to wait until I get my shirt so I can be sure they will fit, otherwise I will have to get smaller patches. I am also designing some patches myself

I plan for the flag to be interchangable between the Canadian flag with white border, and the UA flag with velcro.

Those drop pins look cool, although not sure where I would put it.

I had asked Dom for his opinion as well but he hasn't been on in like a week haha

So I think I will order the shirt then

Any suggestions on what to add to the hat?

Gorman's had nothing on it, but Apone's dark/navy blue cap had the Sulaco patch on it.

Actually Gorman's ballcap had a second lieutenant's subdued rank insignia pinned on the front, turned sideways, like so:

I stand corrected. :)

Just tried to get a better pic of it from the blu ray, but most of the close shots are just Gorman's face.

Got two views, along with one of what's written on Drake's cap. :D

I actually knew about both their caps haha

I was thinking of personalizing mine like Drake has done to his, but not so "bold" and "obvious". I also thought a distressed cap would look neat so I bought one. I may just design my own coin or pin or something through Shapeways. Just something personal :)

I have a vast hat collection haha

Dom also sells a resin Eagle badge, so that might also be an option. :)

Will wait and see what you come up with. 8) :delta:

Haha, puttin' the pressure on me now? ;)

I went to order that shirt, and they have this weird ass run-around going on to ship to Canada... I emailed them about it, so now I gotta wait to see when they can set it up so I can order it haha.

I will wait until I actually have the shirt before I order patches and stuff, Although the name tape and UACM tape should be good to go when camotech gets back to me. How long usually before they respond to emails?

Looks like I have to wait 3 months before the website that shirt is on can ship to Canada, they are working on updating their security. Oh well, more time to be excited!

I think the Gorman-style uniform is a great idea. I noticed the shirt you're trying to buy has shoulder straps while the SU one doesn't, but I think they add a military quality that would be missing otherwise. I would give it a Mandarin-style collar though as it's really pretty easy to do and will give it some USCM authenticity.
Here's an out-there suggestion though: is there any way to give your ride a Powerloader vibe? If nothing else, I've seen the Powerloader logo on a sticker that could be put on the back or side, but maybe some yellow tubing on the arm rests? Just a thought!

HAHAHA!, Awesome idea!, I love it!, I should get some power loader decals or magnets made up!, I actually do have yellow decals already on my chair too, the brand decals are yellow and the chair frame is black.

My lift on my van is also yellow and black, and I do call it the powerloader, everytime I get out I wanna shout "Get away from her, you B****!!". It folds up and sounds like the Powerloader too.

I asked camotech if they can make me some USCM Corporal patches like their Master Gunny patch. She didn't know what it should look like so I mocked up one based on their Master Gunny one, and changed the colours to Green on Khaki

I scaled it to the female size :)

Also asked to order a name tape and a U.A.C.M. tape :)

Still designing some patches, although I plan to buy some of Dom's

Absolutely bad ass patch. Well done.
Also congratulations to your progress with the ACM game campaign to introduce female playable characters. Good Luck with this.

Thanks!

I can't take credit for the patch, Camotech had the bulk of the idea, I just removed some chevrons and stripes and changed the colours haha

I am working on some patches though!

And thank you for the support too!

So I was browsing ebay, and look what I found!

I think it is, or very similar to Gorman's hat! and CHEAP!

54cm/21in.: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/OD-Hot-Weather-F ... 4841588da0
56cm/22in.: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/OD-Hot-Weather-F ... 1c1d793a9d
57cm/22.5in.: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/OD-Hot-Weather-F ... 1c1d794003

Looks like Gorman and Drake's hats!
