Does anyone here recall what font this is?

Was this font ever actually seen in the film?

Thanks in advance!

Berthold City Medium is the closest I have found. It appears to be slightly squished down though, particularly the ">".

I don't recall seeing it in the film, but it has been around since the 1930s

Just wanted to note that the serifs on the "M" don't quite match perfectly. The font used has serifs on the inside at the base of the "M" whereas Berthold City doesn't have inside serifs.

City Pro Light matches the glyphs better. There's a free clone of it called OPTI Cirrus.

A stretched version was used as the on-screen display font for the ship computer in Alien:

Nice find Rob, the "M" definitely matches better on the OPTI Cirrus Light (Medium and Bold are missing the inner serifs)

Uploading direct to the forum for safe keeping:

I have used SquareSlab711 Bold BT and SquareSlab711 Light BT for my Alien(s)-related graphical work:

It may not be the official/screen-used font, but it gets me by, on my web-comic and works like this of the Nostromo's space-suits, etc:

Thanks all... Was there an on screen font in Aliens? Maybe the crew roster on the computer in the Hypersleep Bay?

If nothing is found, I will try to recreate it as a true-type font

It might be one called 'Fake Receipt'. That's just a guess though, it's late here and I'm sleepy!
