The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Country: Netherlands
So the last few days i´ve been working hard to get my outfit and smartgun ready for the dutch comic con. Itś very much inspired by Drake but with its differences. Im sourcing the parts for a headset but knew i wouldnt get them in time, so the night before i made an eye piece and camera attachment. the paint dried overnight and I was ready to rock at the con. Pretty excited to be dressed like that since usually im quite low profile.

At the con there was a prop weopons check and i was told that my gun was almost to convincing to let me in. So in hindsight im glad i didnt make and bring an converted airsoft or deactivated mg 42. Later that day i met a joker whose handmade tommygun was confiscated. Yikes very tight rules regarding replicas here in the netherlands,

But once inside I had such a good time, I met the dutch 501st star wars garrison, the ghostbusters division (who were al decked out in Nickatron props, looking great) There was a batman stand, a harry potter fan table but no alien/marine or predator to be seen. Most youngsters (said the 32 year old :P  ) didn´t recognise the outfit. Umbrella ? (resident evil) was a much heard guess. But the ones who knew aliens were very friendly and complimented my build/costume. Lots of of photos with kids, so that was cool.

And then I spotted a Vasquez and next to her a Ripley  I did get to speak to them for long but we made some nice photoś.
All in all I hade a very nice day and for my next con Iḿ hoping to meet up with fellow marines/aliens/predators. So Germany here i come :)

That's one of the reasons I would not show up at Cons anymore..., you put so much work in a prop like an M41a or similar, and than u not even can bring it to an Con... No need for that shit...

Bit confused about the covered faces.

Why would you go to a convention in a costume and then not want your photo taken and shared? :?

Usually convention organisers have in their terms and conditions that you’re allowing photos/video to be taken, just by attending, in costume or not.

I think he's using the "C.Y.A." approach.
