The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Yesterday the weather was so nice here in Colorado. I painted the helmet! Today, I put it together.

That's a great looking helmet!

What is the story behind the red LED? I dig it and actually stuck a red light on my helmet in Freya 7 in the same area.

Thanks! I was drilling out holes in the ear piece one day to give some added detail and depth to the resin casting. When I drilled that out, I thought that would be a great place to put an led light. So I dug thru my spare Electronics stuff and found the red led and stuck it in there. Last night I was thinking it would be kind of cool to think of it as a transmission light that would come on whenever you key the mic then I though if you have a TX light what about a green RX (receive) led, mounted somewhere? Right now it’s not functional but I’m looking into making it flash or stay on steady. I’m glad you like it and did the same to your helmet. Post a picture of it, I’d love to see it.
It looked like a perfect spot for a light.

Retrogarde, I wanted you to know that I referenced your tutorial many times before starting my build. So thank you for all the information that you provided in it.
I also have others on this site to thank and I’ll do so soon.

Well done !! Quality of your work at the highest level! I envy that you already have your helmet made :). I still have a long way to go.
