Wow, that is awesome! I love all the detail and the work you put into her! You can definitely tell it's a labor of love! You mentioned that the eyes are difficult to paint (which they are). For small details like that, I use a magnifying glass and a toothpick with a tiny dab of paint for the eyes. That might make things easier, maybe? Either way, great job! |

Thank you Catling! And yes, that's pretty close to what I do. I laid in the white with a very fine brush and when that dried, I used a super-fine pen for the pupils. |

She looks awesome!! So much work, but honestly this is the outfit she wears for the majority of the film so it's well worth the effort. What is a shrunken NECA head? |

Thanks Retro! I have plans to do a third version of her wearing the t-shirt, I just have to get all the parts together. A shrunken NECA head...someone molded the head off a NECA Ripley figure, then shrunk it so it was 1:18th scale, then made resin copies. There's a special mold making material that, when exposed to acetone, shrinks. It takes some sort of mathematical process to figure out when to stop the shrinking process so that the finished mold is at the size/scale you want. |
