I just received my Hollywood Collectibles M56 Smartgun! This thing is very heavy. Shipping weight was 36lbs. Has anyone else here got one? I'll try and post pictures later when I get home.

I have one coming, but not gotten it yet. The only other reviews so far I've seen are on Statueforum.com.

I will need some reference pictures for when I adapt my functional mg42 air soft gun to a mg42.

So please post copious pictures.

And congrats on your investment.

Well I got mine today...the box was huge, like 5ft by around 2ft. There was a whole bunch of cardboard and polystyrene - it's well packed.
Man, this thing is AWESOME. I love it. It certainly looks as it should do, and the paintjob is great. I'm a little scared at the moment to handle it, I don't know exactly how fragile it is; it feels strong and it's heavy, but not overly heavy and it looks superb sitting on the stand it comes with. Ultimately it's not going to be as good as one from real parts that move etc, but it comes very, very close I feel.

It's getting late and I'm having trouble finding somewhere half good to take some pics of it so I can post them on here, but the pics on the HCG website are accurate and what you see is exactly what you get. I'll try to get some pics at the weekend when I have more time. I was surprised it came with the SG battery, I'd forgotten about that, and it uses real metal plugs / sockets for it to connect to the cable.

Kudos to HCG for making this thing available, considering the logistics of its size, packaging, manufacture and shipping, they did very well. I'm stoked. :-)

Received mine a few weeks ago, but had to send it back as there were several cracks/breaks in the resin causing the barrel to droop. Have a new one on the way that is scheduled for delivery today. Yes, this thing is fragile, but it looks great!

HCG Smart Gun on the left. Matsucorp Smart Gun on the right. The HCG weighs in at 16 lbs while Matsucorp’s is a full 5 lbs lighter. Honestly, I love Matt’s much more! But it’s nice to see a side by side comparison!

So I had heard Matsuo was consulted/a resource in the design of this thing for HCG. Is there anything in the HCG that looks drastically different than his? Anywhere that the two producers possibly disagreed and took the weapon a different direction? What is the biggest difference?

The biggest difference is the HCG Smart Gun is solid and noticeably heavier! Nothing moves on it. Where as Matts has real metal pieces. Parts that move. The paint scheme's are very similar. A good static display piece. If Matt was consulted, it looks very similar to his, except as noted. I think Matts is superior in build and quality! I've had it at several cons with no problems. His is built to be worn and shown at events. I don't think the HGC could be adapted easily to do that. Plus that 5 extra pounds makes it really heavy compared to Matt's.

Congratulation guys, that's one epic piece you got here.
Did any of you get the M56 blue print that was supposed to come with it?

Cain MKII, if you bought the 'Exclusive' Smart Gun from the Hollywood Collectibles Group website direct it should have come with the print.
Other retailers / sites do not sell the exclusive version.

EDIT
Just realized I misread your post...I do have it, the final print turned out better than the image above, there is a grid pattern behind the SG imagery that is really faint on the above image but in hand looks much better.

Nice. Congrats. Is the base removable or is it attached to the base? How sturdy would you stay it is?

It does come with a nice base to sit on. Not attached, so the smart gun can be removed. I'll post a picture later when I get home from work.

Im very curious, would the steady cam vest be able to connect to this in anyway? Also would the weight of the Smart Gun be too much for the vest?
