The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

This hack should be relatively simple. Take one of these:

And mount your face hugger on top of it.

Control it through the convention floor with your smart phone over blue tooth.

Everyone at work seems to like the idea.

That is all kinds of awesome, especially if you could rig the legs to move using the rod and wheel setup they had in the film. This might work better with a plush hugger than a rigid vinyl one, but then it wouldn't look as realistic. Bit of a tradeoff...

If someone were to mold the legs and cast them in a thin latex, making them move would be easier, but they might not last long...and they certainly will rot away at some point.

I can make a more animatronic one with adafruits servo shield once I get a whole lot better with servos.

I have a remote control spider with moving legs that I am putting a facehugger on. Plus I have pics of the gearbox used for the Aliens one. With use having a fan table at the June Fanboy they both might be there.

Thanks!

Greg

I am hoping to get more props built and have a much more finished look by then as well.
