The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

One good thing about a hurricane, gave me time to make some progress on my power loader build :)

Please, document how you did it. With the covenant movies and other things coming out this stuff is going to be super popular.

So this was the image I used for the template for my build. I printed out the major pieces and cut them out for my different parts.

I started with the legs. I decided I didn't want to be too tall, so I cut down the length between the foot rest and the bottom of the leg.

I decided to use a mixture of Luann, foam board, and EVA foam for my construction to try and keep the weight down as much as I could.

Here is the start of the legs.

I then cut out the foot parts.

For the foot I used an idea from instructables https://www.instructables.com/id/Aliens-Powerloader-Halloween-Costume-1/

I bought some ice cube trays from target to give myself the lift I wanted and then used some 1 X 6 s to give myself plenty of stability.
I ran a threaded rod the length of the 1 X 6s to lock all the pieces together tight.

Once the foot was together I added on the lower leg luann pieces with another 1 X 6 for stability.

I then added on the other side to complete the basic lower leg sections.

The upper leg pieces followed the same procedure to get this result.

I then added on a layer of foam board to give the pieces some depth and basic details.

And finally a test fit. I used 3/4 inch pvc pipe for the knee joints.

So I started working on the arms this weekend. I followed the same principle I did for the legs. I cut out a pattern, used 2 pieces of Luann, and added in some 1/2 X 6 to hold it all together. I plan on using the same type of hydraulics as I did for the legs in the arms.
Here was the layout of the upper arm piece

Here is the other template I used for the upper arm

Here is the upper arm assembled.

I tried saving weight by making the lower arm skinnier and using EVA to bulk it up here:

But trying to use spacers to keep everything tight proved to be more trouble than saving a bit of weight so I switch back over to the 1/2 X 6 wood to connect the lower arm pieces. And here is the rough arm.

Those photos are amazing Willie, but the last one looks like two toys on a table! Without size comparison it looks tiny to my eyes which is really funny.
