The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Prodos games has released a new model of the APC with a full interior and 3 crew figures, it is scaled to 32mm figs.

http://shop.prodosgames.com/th/home/314 ... rrier.html

here are a few pics of mine which is very much a WIP as it will eventually have external and internal lighting

Amazing paint work. You must spend all day in front of a magnifying glass for those results!

Oh, how does the size compare to the NECA one you had been using for those guys?

Damn Graham, they should pay you for finished photos of the model for publicity, you are making it look so good!

It's about 2CM longer than the NECA one

Does anybody know if/how the Prodos APC model scales to their dropship, can the APC fit onto the dropship's ramp/interior?

It's probably me just being way too tired tonight from work, but has anybody else noticed that there is a scale issue with the dropship and the APC in the way they were shown in the film? We know that the APC's interior can't fit into the exterior - the APC would be have to be scaled up to fit in the entire squad, etc. But yet if we were to scale up the APC, then it wouldn't fit into the Cheyenne. If we scale up the dropship to accommodate the scaled-up APC, that would make Ferro and Spunkmeyer smaller in relation to their dropship, as they were seen through the cockpit in the Sulaco's hangar before the drop, as the APC was being driven aboard. (Is this making any sense, or am I just way too incoherent at this late hour?)

The reason that I ask is that it seems to me that an APC model scaled to fit 12 32mm miniatures would not fit in a dropship model that is "movie scale" but if Prodos has figured out a way to do it, then they get my money for both models. I've got an Aliens RPG campaign about to start, and our gaming table sure would look nice with both an APC and a UD-4L on it. :)

Sorry again if this is rambling, it was a really long and hideous day at work, and my brain has already called it quits for the day. Going to bed now.

There probably was a scaling issue. Some of the scaling may have been due to unknowns that did not come up as an issue until after things were built. These quirks are what makes things interesting as you try to actually applying real life physics.

I read somewhere, on the Prodos boards or possibly the AvP game FB page that the APC does not fit into the dropship.

Edit: It's in the comments at the bottom of the page.

Well I am hoping to get a good set of instructions for a lego APC and am hoping I can just upscale size on a drop ship.

Thank you all for your comments, no the Prodos APC does not fit into the Dropship, in many ways the scale issue does mirror the film, however, the NECA APC fits perfectly, here is the NECA one on the ramp of my Prodos Dropship

Is that 3-d printed or did you make it manually.

???

He said it was Prodos, so why would you assume a 3D print? Here's a link:

When complete it makes into a lovely little model of the APC, although I admit I added a couple of bits
