Amazing how long the Alien's Dropship Pilot helmets have taken, almost finished now.

Spunkmeyer "What's this crap supposed to be?" Rapier missile sight - using my own 3D printed parts, I could have sanded and filled them, but quite like the finish so left it as is plus styrene sheet and parts from the Polaroid Instamatic camera, the sight mount I got from Stephen and the visor shield below is original SPH-4 but modified slightly as it was the double-visor version. I could have filled the edges, but running short of time now and just need to get these done.

Ferro's - 'Fly the Friendly Skies'. Fairly pleased with the text.

Outfits are complete - T-Shirts with sleeves removed, dogtags, Mk.11 RAF flightsuits adjusted, Vietnam era flak jackets, yoga mat filling, Aviators, single fingerless glove, correct holster - reversed and rabbit's foot charm, airsoft VP70s, Para Boots.

As other people found (I think!) in the DSP thread, the DSP helmets must have been large as 'regular' size helmets are a bit small for the helmet kit parts - but fairly happy with the result.

Scariest part was cutting the holes in the SPH-4s I put that off literally for months.

Full outfits will be on display at Guernsey Museum '50's to today' Sci-Fi exhibition from September for 3 months.

Wow! Very impressive work on the Spunkmeyer helmet! I really want to tackle that one someday. Would you be able to produce more printed bits?

Yes I could supply some printed parts, but the right-hand sight is mostly from the Polaroid camera and some scratchbuilt styrene parts.

I doubt I'll want to do this again, so I will probably share the .stl files for the left-hand sight if anyone wants them. PM me.

I had cast the transparent parts with a clear resin, but they didn't come out very well (too flexible!) so just cut up a transparent ruler.

Do you have any trace templates you could upload so we can at least have a start at things?

Yes mate!

Formatted for A4 - these worked OK on the Standard size SPH-4 Helmets I have.

I also did a kneepad checklist. Just wanted to differentiate between Ferro & Spunkmeyer as much as possible.

Awesome works ! Making Spunkmeyer helmet parts by 3D printer is very interesting way to get these unique pieces. I'm working also on Ferro and Spunkmeyer. It is great to see your project :) :)

Helmets look great. Its a shame the 3d print lines stand out so much on Spunkmeyers. Looks awesome well done. I loved building my Ferro helmet. very fun build.

I could have smoothed, but I liked the look of these parts once printed, they felt 'machined' - there are plenty of areas where these could be better, I used Tamiya XF-51, but then preferred the look of Revell's colour. The helmets are too small, I have the wrong liner on Ferro's, there are some missing panhead screws, but I'm out of time and they'll have to do :)

The rest of Spunkmeyer's outfit, Ferro's is already at the museum.

RAF Mk.11 flightsuit, adjusted.
US Army M1969 flak jacket - from Germany, with 2 x layers of yoga mat for the armour, I left Ferros plain, but on this M1969 someone had written some numbers in Sharpie on the back, as it's nylon I didn't want to try the usual ink removers so decided to cover it up (mostly) with a huge Bugstomper patch. I know he would fly Smart Ass as well and I have some smaller Smart Ass patches, but I just guess Bugstomper was his favourite!
Dogtags
Mostly screenprinted badges
UD-4L Cheyanne loadout checklist on kneepad.
