The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Got a second hand shoulder lamp, which was essentially held together with cable ties and electrical tape.

The main box appears to be a hollow resin cast, which has been re enforced internally with resin/fiberglass. As you can see from the attached pic, the bottom has been hinged and it just clips together with a magnetic cabinet catch, which isnt very secure.

What I would like to do is somehow fix a couple of nuts inside the top corners of the lid, so I can drill through the back of the base and fix it with a couple of bolts. Any suggestions on how best to do that?

Thanks in advance.

I'd drill your holes first thread the bolt through then put the nut on it. Then you can see exactly where they need to be bonded to the other side. Just an idea.

Cool Little project.

You'd probably need something stronger like JB Weld.

Isn't fibreglass car body filler just 2 part epoxy with re-enforcing fibreglass in it though?

You're thinking of tiger hair. Its body putty with short fiberglass strands mixed in. I agree it probably would be better to use JB weld or a other epoxy glue and fill in smooth the look with regular body putty.

I think what you call Tiger Hair is probably what I'm thinking of when I refer to Fibreglass body filler (bearing in mind I live on the UK, so our descriptive terms are probably slightly different).
