The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Hey folks,
I was lucky enough to recently acquire one of Chef's kits and thought I would share the build pics etc with you.

The kit is 3D printed and does require some clean up and finishing as you would/should expect.

this what you get in the kit

Image

First thing is to clean up this bit to install the switch and leds

Image

then prepare wiring

Image

Put the small switch in place then run the wires like this

Image

You should end up with something like this (used hot glue to secure top )

Image

When the little button is pressed ...

Image

Then glue the detail piece in place

Image

and then the little block in line with the channel

Image

Now you can glue/drop in the perspex window sight reticule

Image

now to prepare the catch

Image

Assemble like this

Image

Then glue onto the back like this

Image

then you can glue the front comb piece on and install the elastic band

Image

when retracted it looks like this

Image

And then press the catch and extends like this ...

Image

It was an easy build and looks the goods for finishing off your bucket
Cheers,

I'd like to get my hands on one of these. What kind/size batteries does it take?

depends on what LED setup you are going to use ... I wired them in series and hooked them to a 3.7v lipo battery via a small resistor (reducing voltage to around 1.5v under load)
