Originally created by Stan Winston Studio, this life sized Queen Alien was manufactured by Distortions Unlimited in the 1990's. It was fabricated from the original movie molds and is fully licensed by 20th Century Fox Corporation. I purchased it in 2008 and have since added the Bruce Hansing face. It originally stood 16 feet tall, but I paid a talented San Diego welder to modify it's stance into what you see now. Other than the face and new stance, it is in original unpainted condition. The two little arms that attach to the chest and the six spines or fins that protrude from it's back will be added later, but can be seen below.

Here are some manipulated pics of what it should look like with the Hansing head and crown attached:

Instead of using the body as a pin cushion, I have worked out alternative mechanisms for attaching the six spines on her back, and the two small arms in front. This is the main cause of damage over the years to the Distortion queens. Luckily this one was protected from most of that kind of damage. I believe it is a complete queen - all six spines, tail, two legs, four arms and crown.

Still a work in progress.

Wow. I absolutely love what I am seeing and actually prefer the new stance to the uprightoriginal.
Thanks for sharing !

Moloch that is fantastic. Beautiful work. That is exactly what I had in mind to finish the queen. Bruce Hansing to the rescue!

I needed to see those pics. Thank you.

That is nuts. So is that thing just your permanent roommate? Hanging out and watching TV together?!

Very very impressive, and I agree that stance is far superior to the default.

Thanks bigbisont

I like the new positioning too. Actually, it can be positioned in both the current position, and the taller slightly bent over stance. But it cannot be stood straight up again without a welders modification.

Hi retrogarde

It should turn out pretty good - eventually, but Moloch's is the crown jewel. Majestic, magnificent, doesn't begin to describe it - and it's complete!

Very cool. I sold mine...

I was not able to display her right...not too mention the weight. Putting it together becomes an engineering feat in itself.

I still have half!

Hi BobFett,

I'm glad you were able keep part of her.

That's especially true for the full upright versions like this one or the leaning forward one on eBay. While it's difficult to display them indoors because of the height, it's the weight and size of the parts that gets dangerous in the upright position if you don't plan out the build. You need at least three people to set it up. Safety and wanting to display indoors is why I decided to have a talented welder modify the Queen's stance. As a result, I now have a solid, easy, one person routine for assembly and disassembly. It can be setup anywhere, always the same, no compromises to safety or looks.

Below is the stance Distortions originally had them displayed from their catalog.

Unbelievable BobFett!

Yours and Moloch's are just perfect. Hansing queens are so nice.

Do you have more pics of this piece? Perhaps some of it disassembled and different angles?

It's just so interesting to see all the different variations Bruce produced. I can see where the crown seems to be in two sections. That's how my fiber crown is. I would love to see the internal structure of how it all fitted together if pics were taken.

Thanks for posting that.

Couldn`t agree more. Love the mouth part on this one. What I would give for a torso and the arms....
