The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Gday everyone Just thought I'd make another thread to post my marine build progress.
I'm going for an accurate Hudson as much as my budget and luck allows.

I have a 2 yr plan for this build as I'm in no rush and I've got some other builds on the go as well.

So what do I have in hand?

Two tins of original Brown Bess. So that will help with colour matching at the paint shop.
A Noble pulse rifle sling.
A machined metal grenade with red cap and spring loaded button

What's on the way?

My Hudson dog tags
Pentax Camera lens
Vietnam era jungle 12R combat boots with correct vibram sole
Vintage and accurate Eagle bolo tie (man was that hard to find!)
SD Locator (Newest version)
Stapleton Pulse meter kit
Dutch Army sleeping roll
Custom made Explorer sheath clone
Watch band
OD Para cord

I'm tossing up now whether to get a welder kit or a motion tracker. I also need a band for my watch from somewhere lol

so anyone have any spare parts etc feel free to contact me.

Kind regards
T

Welcome!
Good luck with your project!
Matt Noble might have some wristbands for the Seiko.

Ah nice, is Stapleton still making the Pulsemeter kits? I PMed him a number of months ago but didn't get a reply.

I heard back from him but he's pretty busy from what I understand and there is a lead time of a few weeks. Nice guy.

Ok so I contacted a bloke about making me a custom leather sheath replicating all the details of the Hudson Explorer sheath. I'll post pics as I have updates but the leatherworker is willing to do it and may be up for making more too. I mentioned the board so we may have another resource to plumb;)

Found the dutch army roll which was proving really difficult to find screen accurate goodness. I should have more than enough for others. Oh and 100ft of green para cord. It was cheap lol Little by little I'm getting there.

Nice, good score/s.
Possible source for Hick's leather shotgun scabbard then?

Ok...mail call. Boots arrived. Correct sole, good repair and I've given them a quick nugget to see how it takes. Pretty good for a few bucks.
Correct Hudson bolo eagle arrived. I'm unsure whether the actually cord was black leather or black nylon either way I'll hit this with some leather dye.

well good luck with the build. im still working on my own build and I have had my gear almost 5 years now. but sounds lik eyou have some good items on the way. I can say the tracker is a good addon just can get annoying at cons. and not sure if Hudson had a Torch.

Thanks mate. The welder and MT are on my list. I recently received an m1 helmet Vietnam issue so happy with that. I think with what I'm waiting on this will probably do until after Christmas. My Velcro should arrive so I'll be making watchbands to try and build up some more play money lol
