The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Outstanding work, such an impressive and worthwhile project. I wish I could blatantly steal your ideas and all those mods but alas...no Hot Toys figures...

Excellent work, I have Hicks and enough spare armour and equipment to do a mini me but I have always been a bit reluctant to do the improvements cos of how much they are worth as original, hat off to you sir!

I have finally jumped back into this rebuild. I believe I have 'finished' Drake.

I repainted the head and used a DID "SWAT" body. Some gear improvements (boots, gloves, etc).

I'd offer to help with the painting but I've not done it for a while, wouldn't want to mess them up!

He looks great, no more Trump-tan ;)

Back in the saddle with a Vaz update.

Head is still not done being repainted, but I am so pleased with how the 'seamless' arms turned out, I had to snap a few pics.

Basically I did some surgery and combined a generic female cheapo body with the relatively new "DAM SDU assualt team leader" arms. It featured seamless "skinny" muscle arms on their v2 SDU figure and is not overly bulky like many of the muscle arms out there. They are still large for a female but I think are the best option and look pretty good with the smartgun. (not so much without it - see last pic)

My latest update: Ferro v2.0.

The flight helmet was originally a 12" GI Joe helmet that I modified as seen here.
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=12665&hilit=ferro+gi+joe

I updated it quite a bit using parts from a "Blue angels" pilot helmet (which had the correct and more accurate knob and mic/boom). I then shaved off the plastic OD ear flaps and took a page from Retrogarde using spare fabric to provide a cloth lining. Finally I removed the 'moveable' visor (because its a feature that is never used) and shaved the front plate mounting pegs down so that the front plate was tighter to the helmet and didnt stick out so unrealistically far.

What I was left with is this:

(body is from the ripley figure. Head is an Angelina Jolie that I carved up and repainted a bit. Hopefully some day we get a propper Ferro Sculpt but this will do for now)

And Spunkmeyer joins the crew.

Painting heads is tedious and very 'hit or miss' with me. I think I got him as good as I can get him for a "stand-in" head.

*If anyone else is building a spunkmeyer figure and wants a proper Danial Kash sculpt head, shoot me a line. We need minimum 4 for the sculptor to take on the job and currently sit at 2. Would run $65 for the unpainted head I think. PM to sort out details.
