The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Has anyone picked one of these up? The price was a bit steep, but it is a nice piece.

I bought this for drops because my modified Matrix is so heavy. I plan on detailing it a little to make it look a little more authentic. I think it is a decent version of the original. They must have just finished these because when I cut the box open I could instantly smell the scent of fresh spray paint. Mmmmm! : ) They drilled out the barrel openings, which is an improvement on the screen used for costuming, but makes it a bit less authentic compared to the real stunt version.

That looks really nice. The last time I tried to go to a con (in Edmonton) they wouldn't allow any replica firearms in at all. I know what happens when we can't take our guns into the nest so I turned around and left. It was very disappointing but I have a feeling this is going to turn into the norm. Time to look at going as a Jedi. :(

Looks great! Is it made from foam or hard resin? Is the gap between the barrel vent and SPAS cage filled in?

I too am very interested to know the material. When I saw the claimed 7lb weight, I was thinking "that can't be solid resin can it?". Surely it must be foam filled? Dying to know!

Also how durable? If you drop it, how likely do you think it is to have parts breaking off or caving in?

Its resin, and there is no gap at the barrel vent. It seems to be one solid piece. It feels pretty durable, but I would guess it would break if you dropped it on a concrete floor. The counter is a decal, but it looks pretty good. It has mounts for a sling, too. I would say it is comparable to a nicely assembled Spat PR. However I would not see any way to modify it like one of those.

What was the price on it?

Yeah that's it! A little pricey, like most of their stuff. I heard about it here in a thread back when they previewed it, at SDCC I think.

If only they would simply start selling the old aluminum shrouds ala carte... :/

I do think this looks great, though. Can't beat 7lbs compared to 18 when you're walking around all day.

Are the sling mounts reinforced in any way or cast resin as well? This looks like a great lightweight option for cons! Pricey, especially importing one to Europe. :/

The HCG site says they are reinforced. They are metal. I attached a Noble sling to it.

Thanks. Now that is very cool. I might need this thing after all!
