The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Nice, hopefully it won't be a rehash on the last book or photos from the Bluray. It would be great to see some new photos, although I am not sure if much exists outside of what we have already seen. Still looks very promising.

Um, given how often Willie posts shots the rest of us have never seen I'd say this book could be pretty amazing.

I'm imagining it's Willie's library! If there isn't a foreword or something by you I'll be upset!

Got mine. If you examine all the pics and compare it to the aliens bluray anthology (production photos), about 80 percent of the books pics came from the bluray. I was suprised at how much came from the bluray

This book and the Bluray share the same source you mean. Personally I find the Bluray galleries cumbersome and frustrating. I'm glad to have hardcopies of these pictures.

They are a giant pain in the ass. To get those pictures off that disk took me some right work!

I've not finished reading this yet but I love the foreword by Carrie Henn and it's presented lovely.

I agree with this, they are indeed a pain in the ass and it is cumbersome to keep clicking to get the the area you want. Certainly rather have them than not though; unfortunately nowadays some blurays are short on BTS content.
It's always nice to see new unseen stuff - maybe we have seen all there is out there - but it'll be really good to get the images in a hardcopy book.

Would you be able to capture a production photo for me from the bluray anthology , it's under the Alien 3? Here is the pic. Let me know if you can help as I would like to print this pic as cleanly as possible. Thanks in advance!

Wow. Can I print an 8x10 without losing quaility? Did you take this directly from the bluray? Can you save as a jpeg and email me to my personal address?

It's a screencap straight off the Blu-ray. Sure, just drop me an PM with you address. No idea on the print quality though.

I got this book for my birthday a few days ago and read through it today. As some have already said it's great to have 'hard copies' as it were and the presentation is indeed very nice, as is Carrie's introduction and comments.

There are however many little info errors in it. Also the author can't seem to make up his mind as to whether the text should be about the extended universe or the making of the film. The Technical Manual is referenced quite a bit; The Jorden Tractor is referred to as the 'Daihotai Colony Tractor' for example, a name that Lee Brimmicombe Wood made up for the Tech Manual. In other sections the real-world making-of facts are stated, such as the Pulse Rifle being made from a Thompson M1A1, Franchi SPAS cage and Remington 870.

As the book is subtitled 'Behind the scenes of James Cameron's 1986 masterpiece' it would make much more sense to stick with purely the real-world information.

Oh, and the APC is referred to as the 'Armoured People Carrier' more than once.

Harry

He gets Bishop and Ash's designations backwards, mistakes the knife worn by the rest of the grunts for Hudson's knife, calls the PR a Plasma Rifle...

But the pictures are great.

I'll help with the list Willie, but if you could also let folks know how awesome it is to have ANY Aliens-centric book. The film usually gets short shrift.

I found another mis-print:

The knife identified in the book as being used for Bishop's knife trick is the Night Raider instead of the Gerber MKII.

Other than that, it's a great book!
