Hey everyone, here's my completed Aliens Motion Tracker. When nick-a-tron announced that he was going to make a resin kit for the MT (
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=13320) I (almost literally) jumped on it. That prop always fascinated me, and selling that Master Replicas a few years back was a bit of a mistake. Let's just say that Nick's kit was a godsend. It's a really nice kit, with everything that you need to build a great MT, and a lot of the hard steps are already done. Especially since you get all the accurate parts needed without having to find and gut a Kango hammer drill.
Anyway, I decided from the start that I would go all-out on this one, using real greebles as much as possible (except for the aforementioned Kango) or at least when the details couldn't be replicated "convincingly" (at least in my eyes) out of solid resin (like the parts of the viewer that came from the Vivitar flash or the Olympus calculator panel, for instance) I also used the facts that the greebles are cheap and easy to find (or I was lucky in my research ) As for paint, I used Aervoe #999 "Earth Brown" as a Brown Bess alternative, and Tremclad/Rust-Oleum Professional Flat Black for the black accents.
Thanks to Nick for his incredibly nice kit, and to Hyperdyne, whose tutorial was a literal bible during this build (I'm talking about that:

Sorry for the crappy pictures, I desperately need a new camera. One that doesn't need studio lightning to take good pics, at least.
