Adding "Alien" to the title seems kind of insulting, considering Ridley Scott kept saying that his Prometheus series was not supposed to be related to the Alien series. But then after all the hype with Blomkamp's proposed Alien 5, RS suddenly adds "Alien" to it.

I like Covenant better than Paradise Lost honestly, but I am hearing folks getting stuck on Halo like that is their only point of reference for that word.

Halo has been around in pop culture for 15 odd years or so now. It's pretty ingrained - I'm the same. I think Halo whenever I heard Covenant. I like Paradise Lost myself. It was (obviously) poetic and sounded like the kind of pretentiousness they might want to go for.

If it was titled Alien: Halo I'd agree. It's like saying the Exorcist prequel couldn't be called Dominion because of Star Trek Deep Space Nine using that word for their bad guys.

I'm not saying it's just because. But when you say Covenant, people will generally think Halo. Not everyone, I'm sure, but most people would as we've seen being said. I can't fault them for thinking that.

Only those who are into computer games (and have an Xbox).
I suspect most people would, as I did, think either God (who has been in popular culture for several thousand odd years), or something like Indiana Jones.

Even Halo is not that big, being also a Beyonce song, a furniture maker and basically skydiving.

I find it hilarious that the xeno will be in Covenant after all of Scott's insistence that that Prometheus was a separate universe. I had no intrest to see it before, but now I'll probably end up seeing it now for some modern xeno action :c
