If you think about the usage of the armor on the characters that were off'ed early, many of them had 'stunts'. Dietrich getting snatched up, Ski & Crowe flying through the air, Frost going over the rail (on fire). Even in a small roll, a lot of activity in a short period of time does lend itself to breakages. Never can have too much backup.
So... in other news....uh... That screen used Hudson body armor I mentioned at the Hollywood Casino in PA is almost certainly
legit.
As noted before, the fit-and-finish on it was out of this world from the paint job to the neck bindings, so it had a strong case. I think the case is now closed as I screen matched it.
It is the set he wore on the drop ship. The skull is its weak spot, but as I said that looked like a sticker. They must have covered the old skull with a slightly larger one, as the perimiter of the skill is larger now than in the screen caps, but the camo pattern don't lie. There are obvious matches everywhere.

I believe it stands to reason Hudson, as an armor wearing character throughout most of the movie, would need more sets of armor than other guys, no? It is perfectly logical to me that he would have had more than the 3 sets.
We also know from the Ski/Hicks armor that they weren't above repainting another character's armor to fill in a need. Other character's armor that was no longer needed may very will have been retagged for Hudson later in the filming leading to more than his 3
original "screen used armor" sets floating around.
