The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I feel like this *could* be Apone's "No. 3" but hard to say for sure…

What were the blue capped grenades supposed to be?

EDIT:

I think the tech manual said blue caps were "Bounding fragmentation" grenades. A little odd that Frost had 4 of them and Ski had 3 blue caps in their straps when neither had a grenade launcher. Apone didn't actually wear any grenades (only 3 of the 9 marines did). Those baby-blue jobbers are unlikely original.

Is 'Bounding Fragmentation' something someone perhaps made up for an EU explanation of what was seen in the movie? The only one we properly see an explanation for is HE...?

The grenades were, of course, just grenades as well as being GL rounds... but like you say, it is odd that Apone, Hudson and Crowe carried very little, if anything, in the way of grenades when they all had an underslung GL...

Thank you again, Willie! Hadn't realised the apparent injuries on that side of Crowe's head... Are there any B&W continuity shots of Ski and Crowe in all their kit like they did for some of the other characters?

So Hicks and Hudson both had 4 sets... Wow... And perhaps a 5th if the one converted to Wierzbowski is uncounted?

Thanks for this Willie... Do we think Remar's may have been the one recycled for Wierzbowski?

Sadly, here's all that remains of Frost's 3rd "C" set, as it looks today:

Where's that piece? Pity that someone can't have the set to Terry to restore...

Wow, I love this thread! I never really read through this carefully. Willie or Harry Harris? Do you guys have any good additional up close photos of Hicks armor (front and back)? I would be most appreciative as I would like to see the paint scheme. Please let me know. Thanks guys!

And apparently Deitrich's BDUs are still kicking in the hands of a private collector.
See page 5 of this thread: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=3730&p=242456#p242456

Remar's too as well as some unidentified sets

Wowza
