Verrrrrryy interesting. Any word if it is a 'rubber' style stunt (durable that holds up to running/jumping/dropping), or are they solid resin and the "stunt" designation is just to let you know it has no moving parts?

So these will be over priced too I presume?
I jest...

Very interesting product choice by HCG, I wonder if any other "stunt" weaponry or equipment will be released?

From the photo I see flled in barrel vent, filled in stock, probably solid front end (i.e. no moving grip). Couldbecool if it isn't too pricey...

I have a fondness for stunt props and pulse rifles, so count me in.

They'd have to be cheaper than a Spulse for me to want/get one.

If they were rubber, they'd be worth a shot.

I will give an update on these when i hit the con next friday. also they are to have a full scale Aliens Drone.

I doubt these will be made from rubber - my bet is that they'll be resin. Rubber is a lot harder to work with, probably more expensive and of course paint wouldn't stick to rubber like it would resin.

I think you'd have a high rate of returns on rubber rifles as well. Since most of the original Aliens stunt rifles were resin, makes sense these will be too...

Oh, I never knew that. Screen used stunt rifles were resin? They must've had some serious breakage issues then.

I don't think any of us who own and collect original Aliens props have seen anything else but resin stunt Pulse Rifles so after all this time I think it's safe to assume there weren't any rubber ones.

Willie what do you think?

There are photos put there of a stunt rifle whose front barrel looks different then known stunts.

For some reason I was under the impression this one may have been one:

Can you elaborate on the "known stunts"? I have been trying to find surviving stunts forever and only this weekend finally saw an image of a claimed screen used stunt. It has the same "forward vent/barrel" that I believe ALL stunts had.

My research on this topic has led me to believe all the stunts were cast off this hero:

Which resulted in every solid stunt looking the same (with a wonky barrel/vent too far foward):

Just to be clear I am NOT saying HCG should make their solid rifles look like that! Since you mentioned "known stunts" I am just curious if there is more info to prove or disprove my little theory. I have never seen an idealized/typical barrel that was filled in and solid (indicating an idealized stunt).

The solid, filled in front of the barrel on this one looks different then other stunts I have seen:

Pre-order is open - http://www.hollywood-collectibles.com/store/pages.php?pageid=16&mode=preview

US$499.95

Looks like there's a "HCG EXCLUSIVE EDITION" in weathered OD and an unweathered OD finish (250 units of each type), as well as a standard edition in weathered Brown Bess and an unweathered Brown Bess finish (750 units of each type).

Good on HCG for thinking OD should be the 'rare' version [can't decide if this sentence should be sarcastic OR a genuine statement ... + :D ]

Cut n' paste from the HCG site -

Comes complete with themed tabletop display stand.

    * Dimensions, including shrouds, exactly the same as the original "Hero" Pulse Rifles.
    * Reinforced metal sling attachment points
    * Themed table top display stand
    * OD Green colored shrouds / Brown Bess colored shrouds
    * Round Counter says “95”
    * 27” long and weighs 5 ½ lbs
    * Proudly made in the USA!

Looks like the counter lights up (maybe) annnd that's about it. No mention of any moving parts.

I can't say I'm in anyway interested in this product.
For that money, I'd rather have 2x Spulses and that would probably include shipping to the NZ (and maaybee some still left over for a few beers).

Yeah, the full description says they have no moving parts and they weigh "only 5 ½ lbs – ideal for display or Cosplay!" Glad to see they finally got pics up though - when I checked a couple days ago there still weren't any.

Ah, I missed the 'no moving parts' bit [obviously]. Good spotting.

Post subject:  Re: Licensed HCG Stunt Pulse Rifles

That 5.5lbs claim sounds incredibly light to me. Surely it can't be traditional solid resin? What does a 'Spulse' weigh?

Might the HCG be some kind of foam resin hybrid? (not sure that exists?)I wonder how durable it is.

If it is crazy light and decently durable, combined with those stellar looks, that price tag may be considered much more reasonable.

Anyone figured out if the counter lights up? Or is it going to be a decal?

From everything that I have read and seen its non-light up, so it'll just be a sticker of some kind. From the photos it also looks like there is no on/off switch similar to the hero rifles that controlled the counter.
